It’s a bit far from the temples and also the drive into the place is long. Hence making it inconvenient!!!!!! The pics make it looks grander than it is :(Verified

BecharaYen2024-03-07Highly recommended homestay in Orchha, the kind of place you wish existed more of nowadays The location of this homestay (note: it is not a fancy hotel, but a very decent homestay) is fabulous. 5 minutes by car to main tourist places. If available try to get the room that faces the river. Though you can mostly "hear and feel" the river and not see it since some 200 meters away. In the morning, just take a chair and sit on the riverbank. You'd be excused to wanting to miss the sightseeing. The team on the ground (led by Manager Jagdish) are very helpful. I had dinner, breakfast, and lunch there; honest, fresh home-made cooking. Last but not least, I was on WhatsApp since before I arrive with the owner himself, who gave a lot of valuable recommendations for Orchha and beyond.Verified
fallfans2024-02-04Rustic harmony Beautifully situated by the river just out of town (but just five minutes in an auto) this is a nice place to relax. The building is constructed from reclaimed materials from the vicinity and furnishings are "upcycled" giving it a rustic charm without sacrificing comfort. You can walk to the river in under five minutes. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful and weather permitting outside. Dinners are also excellent and available at extra cost when ordered in advance. WiFi was strong and we were able to use the card to pay.Verified

The place has its own vibe - from the moment you walk in, you're filled with a sense of tranquility and peace. The lush green fields, the earthy villa, the fresh country air, clear blue skies and the gentle hum of the river Betwa flowing in the vicinity is a treat for all your senses. The food is unparalleled - home-cooked delicacies made and served with love, that leave you feeling happy and satiated from the inside out. The rooms are large and spacious with antique furniture and decor - they transport you to a different time, where life feels simple, uncomplicated and relaxed. Finally, the man who brings Chandera Kothi to life - the owner and host, Madhur Ji, was the icing on the cake. Your trip would be incomplete without experiencing it's beauty and fabulous hospitality. Spent three nights from 22-25th Jan at this beautiful kothi.The property is only a 20 minutes walk from main city centre of Orchha, extremely convenient. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in.The entire space is serene and picturesque with green fields and betwa river flowing right next to it. Even spotted peacocks & peahens in the morning.You will spot a lot of beautiful local birds in the vicinity and near the river. The bedroom is so immaculately done and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes .Every piece of furniture is an antique and has been salvaged to give you a glimpse into the heritage of India, an absolute delight. The food is nutritious, wholesome and absolutely lip smacking delicious.The breakfast & dinner are a grand feast laid out fit for a king, featuring local dishes from the region.The best food you will experience in Orchha. Was fortunate enough to meet the host & owner of the property MadhurJi who is an exceptional gentleman and his energy is what makes the experience even more memorable and special.ThankYou for your time,insights and par excellence hosting. Aishwarya832023-12-29A hidden gem Stumbled upon this property by chance online. Turned out to be a hidden gem in Orchha. The place was at a great location with lovely views near the Betwa river. The double room we booked was tastefully decorated and had a view of the fields and the river at a distance. Homely meals are served at all times and they can even start up a small bonfire to handle the cold. Staff is always around to assist. The approach road is not tarred but it wasn't an issue for us as it's a short stretch. All in all a great stay and a good option to try instead of the usual resorts in the area.Verified

Harshvardhan T2023-11-09Our home away from home. The stunning Homestay at Orchcha My wife and I wanted to make a quick trip from Delhi and we decided to go to go to Orccha! On checking out Reviews online we decided to make Chandera Kothi our home for two days. And home it was. It was the cosiest, freindliest and loveliest home away from home. The rooms were wonderful, the food darn right delicious, the staff courteous and the hosts, were like the family I never had. Did I mention about the food? The chef whipped us some of the best food that we ate. The food was fresh, the produce organic and the taste was some of the best I’ve eaten, having travelled all over the world. The staff was so sweet and accommodating, we got coffee on demand (since I loved the frothy coffee). There is so much to do in Orchcha and the hosts will point you in the right direction for tours and attractions, even a lovely Kayaking expereince. The Homestay is right next to the river Betwa and I’m going to miss my morning meditating, sitting there in stillness after my morning walk. I would 1000% recommend Chandera Kothi and if you do plan to go there please tell Madhur and Sanghita I said a lovely hi and EAT there and not at any restaurant. You will not regret it.Verified
